While
the Japanese have used this charting and analysis
technique for centuries, only in recent years has it
become popular in the West. The term, candlesticks,
actually refers to two different, but related subjects.
First, and possibly the more popular, is the method of
displaying stock and futures data for chart analysis.
Secondly, it is the art of identifying certain
combinations of candlesticks in defined and proven
combinations. Fortunately, both techniques can be used
independently or in combination.
